Sub-Assemblies as SolidWorks Routing Components

If you using SolidWorks Routing then you most likely have run into the need for a group of parts to become a single component of a Routing assembly.

To get started, build your sub-assembly with all of your parts, making sure that you have CPoint and RPoints at the necessary locations on the required parts.

Assembly Connection Points – Assembly Routing Points
At the sub-assembly level, add a CPoint by picking your component level CPoints and add an RPoints by picking your component level RPoints.
-Routing menu – Routing Tools – “Create Connection Point”
-Routing menu – Routing Tools – “Create Route Point”

Save the assembly, preferably in your Design Library – routing folder and start saving time by using this sub-assembly in all of your SolidWorks Routes
