Most users don’t realize that only a small subset of the total available content is included by default when you install SolidWorks. To gain access to the all the available content just click on the “SolidWorks Content” section of the Design Library tab in the Task Pane. From there you can select a category of content and the bottom half of the Task Pane will display what is available.
In the image below I choose to download the additional ANSI Inch Weldment Profiles. When you hover your cursor over the thumbnail of your desired content a tool tip will inform you to “CTRL + click” to download. You will then be prompted to pick a download location.
Once the download is complete just extract the files to the correct location. Note: If you are unsure you can always reference the Tools, Options, System Options, File Locations section to figure out where to place the various content.
Below is a before and after comparison image. As you can see there is quite a difference in the amount of ANSI Inch weldment profiles that are now available.
