Many times the output of a sheet metal flat pattern is oriented as it was modeled versus being oriented in a way that would lend itself to being cut for manufacturing. Being more efficient with the SolidWorks user interface saves time and gets your models created with less effort. Knitting surfaces into a solid or larger surface body can be a complex task. However the Gap Control option within the Knit Surfaces feature helps simplify this task for small, difficult to find gaps. The Gap Control setting within the Knit Surface feature is automatically enabled by default. This setting analyzes the selected surfaces for gaps within the prescribed range.
